Fixing the Treehouse Ladder
Aisha's grandfather built a treehouse in their backyard years ago. One board on the ladder had become loose and wobbly. Aisha noticed it wobble the last time she climbed up. She told her grandfather right away instead of ignoring it. He said noticing small problems early keeps everyone safe. Together, they gathered a hammer, nails, and a new board. Aisha held the flashlight steady while he measured carefully. Her grandfather removed the broken board very slowly. He replaced it with the sturdy new one. Aisha handed him each nail one at a time. When he finished, he tested the ladder himself first. Then he let Aisha climb up carefully to check it. The ladder felt solid and steady under her feet. Aisha felt proud. Aisha thanked her grandfather for teaching her to fix things. He said that noticing problems was the important first step. They celebrated with lemonade up in the treehouse. Aisha decided she would check the ladder herself every single month from then on.
