Animals survive by getting resources from the places where they live. Kindergarten children usually name food and water first, but may overlook air, room to move, or a safe place to rest. This worksheet shows each animal’s needs as a four-part routine. One stage is hidden, and the learner uses the visible stages and short choices to complete the model. Different animals eat different foods and use different shelters, yet the broad pattern stays the same: they need nourishment, water, oxygen, and a suitable place. Support pages use direct need words. Challenge pages use actions such as taking in oxygen or hiding from danger, so the language changes while the life-science idea remains stable. Avoid telling children that every animal drinks in the same way; fish obtain water differently from land animals. Ask what resource each action supplies. That question connects a concrete behaviour, such as finding seeds, to the more general need for food.
