About this worksheet

A bar graph shows how many with bars of different heights, one bar for each choice, and a scale up the side that tells how tall each bar is. Second graders draw bar graphs from a table and read them with a scale in ones, then use the numbers to solve problems: which has the most, which has the fewest, and how many more or how many in all. This worksheet gives a small table of numbers and an empty graph with its scale and labels, so the first job is to color or draw each bar up to the number in the table.

Then six questions ask about the graph, and the answers are written on the lines. Ask your child to check each bar against the table, with a finger on the top of the bar and then straight across to the scale.

Worked example

If the table says Cat 7 and Fish 3, color the Cat bar up to 7 and the Fish bar up to 3. Cat has 7 - 3 = 4 more.
