About this worksheet

Probability is how likely something is to happen, written as a fraction: the ways to get what you want over all the things you could pick. Each sheet has six separate problems about a bag of marbles, a jar of counters, a box of blocks, a spinner and cards, and your child writes a fraction on the line.

What your child will learn

  • Write a probability as a fraction
  • Add the ways to get either of two colors
  • Find the probability of not getting something

Worked example

A bag has 3 red, 4 blue and 5 green marbles. The probability of blue is 4/12, which is 1/3.

Putting the number of the other colors on the bottom instead of the total number of marbles.
