About this worksheet

A biography is the story of a person's life. Studying people who changed history helps a second grader see how one person can make the world better. Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus, and Martin Luther King Jr. led peaceful marches and gave a speech about fairness. Abraham Lincoln and George Washington were presidents. Harriet Tubman led people to freedom. Helen Keller learned to read and write without sight or hearing.

Amelia Earhart and Sally Ride were pioneers in the air and in space, Neil Armstrong walked on the Moon, and Thomas Edison and Benjamin Franklin were inventors. This worksheet gives eight short clues, and the child circles which person each one describes. Ask your child to choose one person and tell the class what they did.
