Fourth graders meet many words that cannot be spelled by sound alone, such as friend, because, library and Wednesday. On this sheet each row shows three spellings of one word, and your child circles the one that looks right. Every sheet uses fifteen different words, and the six versions share almost none, so a child who prints all six sees about ninety of the words grade 4 writing uses most.
Ask your child to say each word, picture it, and then check the answer key.
