A label is a short piece of informative writing that names an exact part of a picture. Kindergartners often write a general word under the whole drawing when the callout line points to one smaller feature, or place a correct word so far away that the reader cannot tell what it names. This worksheet uses reviewed diagrams with leader lines and a single blank. Children match the line to a visible part, choose the precise word, distinguish a part name from the whole subject, and type or copy one missing label for self-checking. Support pages show three large, familiar parts. Standard and challenge pages include four or five labels and features that sit close together. Encourage the child to follow the line from its empty box all the way to the dot before reading the choices. When writing a label, copy one letter at a time and keep the word beside its line. The goal is clear information, not a decorative caption.
