About this worksheet

A possessive noun shows who owns something. Instead of saying the bike belongs to Max, we say Max's bike. For one owner we add an apostrophe and an s, as in the girl's hat. For more than one owner that already ends in s, we add only the apostrophe, as in the boys' bikes, and for a plural that does not end in s, such as children, we add an apostrophe and an s again.

On this worksheet each sentence says that something belongs to someone, and your child writes the possessive phrase on the line. Building Confidence uses one owner, On Level adds names ending in s and titles, and Challenge Me uses plural owners. Ask your child who the owner is and whether there is one owner or more than one.
