Grade 5 Math Worksheet

Find the quotients.

Dividing a decimal by a whole number works like short division with the decimal point carried straight up into the answer. Dividing by a decimal is easier once both numbers are multiplied by 10 or 100, which turns the divisor into a whole number without changing the answer.
This fifth grade sheet has nine quotients that come out exactly, some decimals divided by whole numbers and some decimals divided by decimals, each worked in a long division bracket. Each version has different numbers, and the answer key gives every quotient.
Common Core standard: 5.NBT.B.7
0.85 ÷ 5 = 0.17, because 5 × 0.17 = 0.85.
Losing the decimal point, so 0.85 ÷ 5 becomes 17.
Multiply your answer by the divisor. If you get the first number back, the quotient is right.
