About this worksheet

A picture graph turns a count into a picture: each row shows one thing, and each small picture stands for one. A child who can read a picture graph is learning to answer questions with data, not only with the things in front of them. On this page there is one picture graph with five rows, one for each day of the school week, and one small picture stands for one thing that happened that day.

The questions ask how many pictures there are on each day, so the child counts along the row and writes the number. The graph is printed once at the top, and the questions follow in order, which is how real graphs are used. Ask your child which row is the longest and which is the shortest. Then make a graph at home from toys sorted by color.
