Teen numbers are the bridge between counting individual objects and understanding place value. Each number from 11 through 19 is one complete group of ten plus some extra ones. The spoken names can hide that structure: eleven and twelve do not sound like ten-one and ten-two, while thirteen through nineteen say the ones part first. Children may reverse the written digits or treat both digits as separate counts. This worksheet makes the hidden ten visible with full frames and base-ten blocks. Questions ask for the whole teen number, the number of extra ones, and the matching ten-and-ones description. Support versions emphasize smaller teen numbers with fewer loose ones.
