Preschool Math Worksheet

Draw a line from each color word to its picture.

By the end of preschool many children can say every color and are starting to recognize a few color words in print. This page lets them try: a column of color words on one side, a column of pictures on the other, and a line drawn from each word to the picture that is that color. A strawberry is red, a whale is blue, a frog is green, a banana is yellow. Read each word aloud together the first time, and point to its first letter, then let the child do the lines.
If reading is too much, say the word and let the child find the picture: the matching still counts. The pictures are things with one color a child will agree on, so there is only one right line for each word. Use the color pages first, and come back to this one when the words start to look familiar.
Head Start ELOF standard: P-LIT 3, RF.K.3.C
The word red is on the left. The right column has a strawberry, a whale and a frog. A strawberry is red, so draw a line from the word red to the strawberry.
Matching by the first thing the child sees on the right. Read the word, then look for the picture that is that color.
Say the color word, then find something that is that color.
