A short paragraph is a small structure: a topic sentence opens the idea, details support it, and a closing sentence wraps it up. Second graders may write four good sentences but place them in an order that makes the paragraph feel jumpy. They may also add one sentence that is interesting but belongs somewhere else. This worksheet lets students practice paragraph building without the load of composing from scratch.
