Grade 1 Math Worksheet

Count the coins. Write the total in cents.

A quarter is worth 25 cents, which is more than any other coin first graders count. On this grade 1 worksheet each line shows a row of quarters with a few dimes, nickels or pennies, biggest coin first, and your child writes the total in cents on the line. Each row has four to seven coins and the total is always less than one dollar: support sheets have up to 2 quarters, standard and challenge sheets up to 3, with several kinds of coin on the same row.
Count the quarters by 25: 25, 50, 75, then count on with the smaller coins, tens first, then fives, then ones.
Common Core standard: 2.MD.C.8
There is 1 quarter, 1 dime and 2 pennies. Start at 25. Add the dime: 35. Add the pennies: 36, 37. Write 37.
