About this worksheet

A day has two halves. The hours from midnight until noon are a. m. , and the hours from noon until midnight are p. m. Telling which half an event belongs to is a second grade skill, because a clock face shows 7:00 twice a day, once for breakfast and once for bedtime. Each line on this page names something that happens in a day, such as eating breakfast or watching the sunset, and your child circles a.

m. or p. m. Ask what time of day each event usually is: after waking up is a. m. , after lunch and into the night is p. m. Then ask your child to name something they do at 7:00 a. m. and something they do at 7:00 p. m.
