About this worksheet

Knowing the order of the days and months is the first calendar skill, and it is one that many children only half know. There are seven days in a week and twelve months in a year, and both repeat in a circle, so the day after Saturday is Sunday and the month after December is January. Each line on this page asks for the day or month that comes before or after another, and your child writes the answer on the line with a capital letter.

Say the days and months in order together, a little each day, and keep a calendar on the wall where your child can check an answer. Ask your child what comes after Friday, and what comes before January, because the turn of the week and the turn of the year are where children slip.
