Grade 3 Math Worksheet

Find the perimeter of each rectangle in meters.

The perimeter of a shape is the distance around its edge. For a rectangle, the two long sides are the same length and the two short sides are the same length, so a child can add all four sides, or double the length and the width and add them. On this worksheet your child sees nine rectangles on a grid, each with its two sides labelled in meters, and writes the perimeter in meters.
Building Confidence uses small rectangles up to 5 by 5, On Level uses sides up to 8, and Challenge Me uses sides up to 9, including squares. Ask your child to walk a finger around the edge, saying each side as they go, and to check that all four sides were counted.
Common Core standard: 3.MD.D.8
