About this worksheet

Change is the money a shopper gets back when they pay more than the price. To find it, subtract the price from the money paid, or count up from the price to the amount paid with coins and bills. On this worksheet your child sees a price and the money paid and writes the change with a dollar sign and cents. Building Confidence pays with one dollar and uses prices that end in 5 or 0, On Level pays with five or ten dollars and uses quarters and dimes, and Challenge Me pays with ten or twenty dollars and uses prices with any number of cents.

Ask your child to count up from the price: from 65 cents to a dollar is 5 cents to 70, then 30 cents to a dollar, which is 35 cents.

  • Count up from a price to the amount paid
