The Lighthouse
Upon the rocks beside the bay,
A lighthouse stands both night and day.
When fog rolls in and hides the shore,
And waves crash louder than before,
The light stays on.When storms come howling from the sea,
And small boats bob like leaves set free,
When thunder booms and lightning flies,
And dark clouds swallow up the skies,
The light stays on.The keeper climbs the winding stair,
She checks the lamp with gentle care.
She wipes the glass until it gleams
And sends out wide and golden beams.
The light stays on.And when the morning sun comes through,
The boats sail home across the blue.
The sailors wave up at the tower,
The light that helped them every hour.
The light can rest. What is this poem mostly about?
