Grade 1 Social Studies Worksheet

Draw a line from each picture to its name.

A symbol is a picture or a place that stands for something bigger. The United States has symbols that children see at school, on coins and on the news: the flag, the bald eagle, the Liberty Bell, the Statue of Liberty, the White House and the Capitol. Learning to name them helps first graders understand what their country shares.
On this grade 1 worksheet each box has three pictures on the left and three names on the right, and your child draws a line from each picture to its name. Every sheet has two boxes, with a different mix of the six symbols on each version. Ask your child what they know about each one.
