About this worksheet

Earth has seven large land areas called continents and five large oceans. The continents are Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, South America, Australia and Antarctica. Asia is the largest, and Australia is the smallest. The oceans are the Pacific, the Atlantic, the Indian, the Arctic and the Southern. The Pacific is the largest. Most of the Earth is covered by water, and the oceans join together into one big sea.

A map or a globe shows where each continent and ocean is, and people use them to say where they live and where they want to go. This worksheet gives eight clues, and the child circles the name that fits each one. A clue about land has continents as choices, and a clue about water has oceans. Ask your child to find our continent on a globe and say which oceans are near it.

What your child will learn

  • Name the seven continents and five oceans
  • Tell where a continent or an ocean is
  • Use a clue to find a place on a globe
