Utah Fits All broadly serves resident K–12 students outside public school. Carson Smith Opportunity Scholarship separately serves students with a qualifying disability attending an approved private school or homeschool.
UFA provides $8,000 for private school, $4,000 for home-based students ages 5–11 and $6,000 for ages 12–18. CSOS provides up to $12,175 for approved private school or $8,000 for homeschool.
UFA’s 2026–27 application is closed and waitlisted. CSOS continues approval cycles subject to available funds, with upcoming cutoffs October 15 and December 15, 2026.

It depends on the state, but most programs cover private-school tuition, curriculum and textbooks, tutoring, testing, educational therapies, and school supplies, each with conditions. Every guide lists what its program covers and links the official rules.

In 17 of 18 programs, yes: curriculum, workbooks and printable worksheets are instructional materials, the category ESA programs cover most often, usually on condition that the purchase goes through the program's platform or an approved provider.
Through the program's platform: ClassWallet or Odyssey in most states, direct reimbursement in a few. The program reviews the purchase before the vendor is paid, so do not buy first and assume reimbursement.
