Grade 1 Math Worksheet

Use the ruler. Write how long the bar is.

A ruler is a row of equal units with numbers on it, so measuring with one is counting units that are already marked. The child checks that the bar starts at 0 and reads the number where it ends. On this grade 1 worksheet each line shows a bar lined up against a ruler and your child writes how long it is. Odd-numbered versions of the sheet measure in inches and even-numbered versions in centimeters, so six versions give both.
Support sheets use whole numbers up to 9, and standard and challenge sheets go up to 12. Many first graders read the end of the ruler instead of the end of the bar, so point to the end of the bar and read the number under it.
Common Core standard: 2.MD.A.1
