Telling time is more than reading a clock. A third grader also finds the time that comes after a stretch of time, such as the time 30 minutes later, and the time that came before it, such as the time 15 minutes ago. On this worksheet each clock shows the time now. The odd-numbered versions ask for the time that is later by an amount, and the even-numbered versions ask for the time that was earlier, and your child counts on or back and writes the new time as hours, a colon and minutes.
Building Confidence uses o'clock and half past with 30 minutes or one hour; On Level uses quarter hours and up to two hours; Challenge Me uses times that are not on a quarter hour and spans such as 25 or 40 minutes that pass the top of the hour. Ask your child to count on by fives or to jump to the next hour first and then add the rest.
