About this worksheet
Sequencing events helps children understand how a text moves from beginning to end. Third graders may remember all the events but still place them in the wrong order, especially when the passage contains words such as after, at last, or before. This worksheet gives short passages with three clear events and asks students to order them, find the first event, choose what happens next, and identify the last event. Sequence-card visuals are used only for the event cards being arranged, so the visual supports the same skill as the question. Encourage your child to reread the passage and mark time words. The right order should make the passage make sense. Students should retell the same order in their own words.
