About this worksheet

Every child is good at something. Some children run fast, some draw well, some are kind to the baby, and some can tie their own shoes. Noticing what we are good at builds confidence and helps a child feel known, and it is the first step toward talking about feelings, friends and goals. On this page the child draws a picture about themselves in a big box and then finishes a sentence about it.

There is no right answer, so there is no answer key: any picture and any sentence that fits the question is a good one. Ask the child to tell you about the drawing, write down what they say in the lines if they cannot yet write it, and put the page on the fridge. Next time, try a new question and see what else the child can tell you about themselves.

What your child will learn

  • Notice something you are good at
  • Draw a picture about yourself
  • Finish a sentence that starts with I
